THE BIRTH OF A BLOG
Fair warning, the word brief is not in most writers’ vocabularies, but I’ll try to keep it under a thousand words (just kidding). I had the good fortune to be able to retire in 2017. I had always wanted to watch Glee, but never had the time. In late 2019 I finally got around to it & like any intelligent person loved it. I especially loved Kurt Hummel, from the second he sauntered onto the screen. Then, Klaine happened, and I fell in love with them not even knowing the phenomenon they were.
In March 2020, another Glee (especially Kurt/Klaine) fan sent me a message on Twitter. We became fast friends & started talking about how we almost felt like we were “in the closet” for loving Klaine. We’d discovered that social media is not always kind to those of us who are over 20 and love Klaine & as a result KLAINE 40 SOMETHING PLUS KLAINIACS was born as a Facebook group. It has embraced over 400 members in less than a year.
In the midst of all that, I was collecting Klaine fan videos on Youtube and ran across this one.
The background music was by Camila, a Latinx (Mexican) group. I’d never heard of them, but I loved the song so much that I ended up with all of their music, deciding to learn Spanish.
Samo, one of the members, left the group in 2013. I liked him the most of the three band members, so went in search of anything about him & found lots! Some members of the FB group encouraged me to write some fan fiction about featuring Kurt & a character based on Samo, renaming him Javier Ramo Ruiz (my obsessions). I’d never heard of fan fiction, but I’d always loved to write. And along came EVERYTHING CHANGED (TODO CAMBIO).
In October 2020, I started out sending my fan fiction via email to those who were interested. I didn’t feel comfortable using traditional fan fiction sites because I was writing a story containing characters based on real people. I wanted to start with readers I knew who were truly interested. I’d heard too many stories about negativity, mean for the sake of mean, etc., on fan fiction sites. Finally, in May 2021, I created the group KLAINE BASED FAN FICTION on Facebook.
Some of my readers requested I write a pure Klaine story & WHEN SOULS COLLIDE was created.
CHAPTER 1 RISKY BUSINESS – KLAINE BASED FAN FICTION (klaine-based-fan-fiction.com)
Currently, I choose to write Klaine stories by request with an idea for the story. Simultaneously, I write Kurt/OC and/or Blaine/OC stories.
But why create a blog when I already have a Facebook group? Because Facebook is not exactly easy to maneuver when creating a group & they seem to have made it a habit of coming up with rules that they enforce arbitrarily. My stories are for mature audiences. They contain mature situations and language. I figure sooner or later Facebook will get around to me and the group and decide it’s too “something” for Facebook. So, here we are! I hope you like my stories!

I found Glee a little later than most as the UK were about 2 years behind the USA in showing it. Unfortunately they only aired the first series and as I already loved Kurt, that forced me to buy the DVDs which have since been replaced due to being worn out! When Blaine was introduced, I so wanted he and Kurt to fall in love, and my prayers were answered!
I then discovered the Klaine 40+ FB group and Laurie and I hit it off immediately! She introduced me to the music of Camila and then Samo; and my goodness, did I fall hard!! The fact that Samo cares so much about his fans is remarkable and I’m very lucky to have had several “conversations” with him via the internet, including a surprise birthday greeting arranged by Laurie!
I haven’t read lots of fan fiction as I’m not fond of the “lets get down and dirty” from page one; those stories do have their place but I prefer the slow build and anticipation and Laurie’s stories deliver that in spades; and when they get hot, you’ll need a cold shower to cool down! As a dedicated Klaine fan I was initially unsure about Kurt being paired with someone else but once I started reading, I was soon swept up in their beautiful love story!
I would urge everyone to at least try Everything Changed (Todo Cambio) as, like me, you might just become bewitched!
